Windows Mobile WVGA Game Review - SPB Quads Puzzle Action the Way You Want It

SPB Quads is the full grown version of a mini game that SPB has put in another game before. You can find this game in the brain-fusing title called SPB Brain Evolution. In SPB Brain Evolution there is a game called 'quadronica' which is a game that has the same rules as SPB Quad but lacks the lush graphics and smooth game play.

The game features a couple of modes that you can play. These modes are called 'Time Quad' and "Ever Quad' respectively. As the name already suggests Time Quad is a time based game where you battle against the clock to collect a set amount of points before the clock runs out. When you complete the goal the game will increase it's difficulty and you move on to the next level where you can collect more points. The Ever Quad mode let's you find patterns until you are fed up with it and quit the game to continue later on or start a new game in any of the game modes

The WVGA compatible game features all kinds of bonuses in the form of blocks with certain special abilities that let you blow up big parts of the screen or gives you a hint for the next rectangle to spot. There are also hints for when you get stuck, the game shows you a little animation that suggest a rectangle you can solve if you have been idle for too long.

The graphics of the game look great, I have tested it on different devices including the HTC Touch HD, Touch Pro 2 and the Touch 2 Diamond, all of these are WVGA devices and what I can say about it is that the graphics and animations feel really good at this resolution, while it also runs perfectly smooth on lower resolution devices. While not tested all Windows Mobile resolutions used in smartphones these days, it should work on all of them. The quality of the game sounds and music is also great, not perfect but great. The music kind of hums in the background and sets the mood for fast paced puzzling pleasure.

SPB Quads is a great game for it's cost ($9.99). If you enjoy puzzle games you will probably spend a lot of time on this game, and the cost compared to the hours of fun you could get out of it is quite low. However if you enjoy brain games and don't care too much about graphics and sound quality you could go for SPB Brain Evolution 2.0 which includes this game in a smaller form and many others.

Let's hope this trend of quality games continues for Windows Mobile also with the Windows Mobile marketplace coming to a close release date, it would be great if users of these devices could start to enjoy higher quality games sooner rather then later. Compared to a year ago many WVGA compatible games are coming out and Windows Mobile users are finally getting some entertainment brought to them.

Flight Pro Simulator - An Honest Review of This Flight Sim

There are many flight simulators that have come on the scene in the past years, some good and some are really bad. I have tried many of them, but the best one I have found is Flight Pro Simulator. I have many reasons for stating this, so lets talk about them below.

The first thing that I liked about this flight simulator is the 3D cockpit views. It is very realistic and you can control everything from raising the planes wheels to using the air brakes.

Next was the all of the realistic controls. They act just like the real instruments on an actual plane. There is real life lag, the gyro drift is very accurate and the magnetics compass works with the planes body forces. All of these things that make flying a real aircraft are mimicked in Flight Pro Simulator.

There are many different aircrafts to choose from with Flight Pro Simulator. You can choose from a variety of military jets, a 747, A320, many light singles, the Wright Brothers first plane, helicopters and strange flapping wing ornithopters.

Another reason I can give a good review of Flight Pro Simulator is all the different airports that you can land at around the world. Just pick any airport and you can land there. Although this is an extra add on feature to the game, it is so well worth the extra expense.

The scenery that comes with this software is quite amazing. It is very realistic and all the ground features look so darn real, it felt like I was really flying over them.

One last important thing about this software is it will play on just about any pc. There are just moderate computer requirements for it to work properly. So if you have an older pc that runs WIN 95, you should be fine.

There are many other great features to Flight Pro Simulator, but too many to mention here.

After looking at all of the different flight plane simulators Flight Pro Simulator was the one that had everything I was looking for. It had many different types of planes to fly and land. You could pick any airport from around the world and land there too.

It even had the option to play online with other players from around the world. You could even fly in formation with these other people, how crazy is that. When flying your plane it is very life like and you feel like you are really in the cockpit. The scenery is fantastic and I can't say enough about this amazing software.

For a more in depth review of Flight Pro Sim visit: Flight Pro Simulator. I hope you will enjoy this software as much as I have.

WET Xbox 360 Game (Cert 18)

It's clear that someone from Artificial Mind and Movement wants to be Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez, as their Xbox 360 game, WET, is dripping with inspiration from the Grindhouse style. This certainly sets it aside in the market this fall with its dark and dirty style from the polished Sci-Fi environment of Halo: ODST and the war torn lands of Call of Duty. You play the foxy female assassin Rubi Malone, a modern day cowboy packing pistols along with a fouler mouth than Joe Pesci to boot.

As the voluptuous vixen Rubi, you are forced to play with the big boys; the crime lords and the drug barons. You take on these over the top villains in an array of urban environments and unbelievable action sequences. The gameplay draws from the all-too-famous Max Payne with a heavy use of bullet time as you slide, dodge, flip and bend in ways I didn't think were possible. There is a multiplayer that stacks up your kills in an almost arcade like fashion, awarding extra points for fluid gameplay. The story is similar to a B-movie in style with over the top action and cliched dialogue. It is a classic tale of revenge and double crossing, with Rubi proving that Hell really has no furry like a woman scorned.

The gameplay unfortunately has a few faults that really hamper it from becoming a great title. From start to end there is very little that alters the gameplay to that great of an extent and hampers the game's re-playability. The game does offer some variety to keep the player from gravitating to bored with quick time levels and the new "Rage Mode". It is within these sections that the Xbox 360 audio really stands out, which is superb.

It is a shame that there is such a lack of alteration in gameplay as it will be only be the lovers of the title's unique artistic style that will return to it. Add to that the game has a cert 18 rating of for just cause. This is perhaps because this title has been treated as more of an interactive movie rather than that of a video game. So on that note I would recommend this to fans of Mr. Tarantino who would appreciate it on that level. For the casual gamer on the other hand, it unfortunately isn't worth the full high street price according to Colan Belshaw, but certainly something you should pick up cheap in a sale.

To see what other good Xbox 360 games for over 15 years of age visit Game Stock. As for hardware, I'd recommend an Xbox 360 Elite Console bought cheap online.

Xbox 360 Game Review - Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas 2

The second installment in the Vegas series sees the now famous Rainbow Six team head back to Sin City for another round of terrorist thwarting action. While it might not be a completely new experience for many 360 gamers, it's been updated and polished enough to warrant a welcome return.

The Vegas series is a mixture of third and first person action set within the bright lights and seedy streets of Las Vegas. The game is essentially a tactical shooter that uses a squad management system to provide an experience that's both full of action and reliant on implementing a good strategy.

Normally we'd mention the plot to introduce the game, but the single player storyline offered in Vegas 2 is barely worth talking about. Much like the original game, the story mode serves more as a six hour tutorial and introduction to the online game than as a serious effort for solo gamers. You will find a variety of reasons to go shoot terrorists in various Vegas venues, but no narrative that's comparable to Tom Clancy's writing, or even most other 360 games.

Luckily the lack of story doesn't make the single player a totally pointless effort. The AI is absolutely top notch and the level design is brilliant. The experience system -- which allows you to unlock different goodies in both single player and multiplayer -- makes continued play more rewarding. Newcomers will find the controls a little alien at first but players are introduced gradually and once you've figured out how everything works, it's actually very intuitive.

Of course, the real appeal of Vegas 2 is on XBOX Live. The game doesn't disappoint in this area offering a full section of different game types and maps to enjoy that will extend the lifespan of the game indefinitely. At the time of writing, the Vegas community is still very active online, not least because it's the only tactical shooter out for the system. Due to the plot and strategic element of the game, the community is also more mature than you'll find in games like Halo or Gears of War.

Graphically, the game is a little repetitive in places and features some rather flat textures, but overall captures the gaudy feel of Las Vegas to brilliant effect. Characters and animations are top notch as are most of the graphical effects, all of which occur without any slowdown at all. If you've played the original game however, you'll notice that there hasn't been much in the way of new graphical features added between versions.

Tom Clancy games have been well known in the past for sacrificing fun for a realistic portrayal of the action. The Vegas series has changed all that and marks the point where the Rainbow Six name finds a perfect balance between realism and pure enjoyment. If you're looking for a deep single player experience, Vegas 2 is both short and slightly unfulfilling. However, if you're a Live gamer, you owe it to yourself to try out one of the most popular games for the system.
